Bath Artist Printmakers
Set up in 1984 with the
aim of improving public
awareness of printmaking
through exhibitions, courses
and seminars. Since its
inception the group has
been active fulfilling these
objectives. The groupâs
premises in Larkhall, Bath
has light and airy ground
floor studio, enabling them
to offer courses and work
shops to a wider cross
section of the public.

Bath Fringe Visual Arts
An opportunity for artists to
showcase their work in Bath
during the Festival Season.
There will be new work from
established local artists as
well as artists exhibiting in
this high profile community
event for the first time.
The range of work includes
ceramics, installations,
sculpture, paintings, textiles,
and costume design.
Most of the locations are
empty properties loaned
for the duration of the
festival by the Council and
local property developers.
The Visual Arts Programme
is run by volunteers and
relies on the support of local
businesses and grants from
regional arts associations.
All exhibitions are free.

The Society was founded in
1904 with 26 foundation
members and it has grown
over the years to around 120
members. Many distinguished
20th century painters have
been associated with the
Society including Walter
Sickert, John Sargent, Mary
Feddon, P. Wilson, Gilbert
Spencer, William Scott,
Patrick Heron, Adrian Heath
and Sir Howard Hodgkin.
David Inshaw, one of Britains
leading contemporary artists
and a member of the Ruralists
in the 1960âs and 70âs, is the
current president.
The annual exhibition which is
open to non-members is held
in the Victoria Art Gallery and
attracts about 1000 entries
and over 14000 visitors.

Widcombe Studios
Widcombe Studios is a
non profit making arts
centre in Bath. It exists to
support the visual arts in
the community by providing
affordable studio space,
classes, exhibitions and
talks. Since its foundation
in 1997 it has become a
central part of the artistic
community in the city and
the largest provider of
courses and studio space.
Currently there are 42
studios and there is a full
programme of art courses
catering for all levels. Both
the gallery and the school
room are available for hire.
The BANA office is also
housed in the building.

BANA. Bath Area
Network of Artists
An artist- led network
that is working to raise the
profile of arts activity in the
Bath area by forming and
strengthening links between
artists, art groups and art
promoters and pressing for
increased investment in
local arts activities. BANA
has a website, database,
publishes a newsletter and
runs artistâs cafes where
members can meet and
share information.
